You are here: Home Beware of an Arizona Real Property Tax ScamRichard Keyt, Arizona Real Estate Lawyer We received a very official looking notice in the mail called the "2009 Property Tax Reduction Form." The notice looks like a government form and is intended to get the real property owner to pay a fee to the "Property Tax Review Board" to apply for a reduction in property taxes and attend a hearing if necessary. The Arizona Attorney General issued a consumer alert about this scam and filed a lawsuit on August 13, 2009, called State of Arizona vs. Property Tax Review Board, Inc., seeking a temporary restraining order and an injunction prohibiting Property Tax Review Board, Inc., from sending the notices and operating any business in Arizona involving property tax reduction services. The complaint is supported by affidavits from the County Assessors of Maricopa, Pima and Navajo counties. See additional stories on this topic here:
